This story I heard from my daughterapos;s teacher.
I donapos;t know who wrote it and Iapos;m not sure that I translated it 100 correctly, but most of it should be fine.
Please enjoy:
========================================
A child walked on a valley, and saw an old man, sitting concentrate watching a pupa. He asked the old man what is so special in this pupa, that he watching it so closely instead of watching the lovely view around him. The old man said that this pupa is a wonder of nature. In this pupa grows beautiful butterfly, and when the time is come, the butterfly will come out, spread his wings and fly. The boy asked the old man if he could give him the pupa for himself. The old man agreed and told the boy: "When the time will come, and the butterfly will try to break the pupa with his wings. You must not help it or touch it no matter what happens".
The boy promised not to help the butterfly and got the pupa. For a few days he sat and watched the pupa, waited for it to burst. One day, he saw little movements on one point of the pupa. He was so excited. The movements went on and on, and started to become bigger and stronger, until there was a little torn in the pupa. The kid saw a beautiful butterfly trying to get out of the pupa, hitting it with its wings. He thought that it was so small and weak, and he felt like he wanted to help the little butterfly to come out, but then he remembered what he promised the old man.
For several hours he sat and watched the little butterfly trying to get out. When the butterfly got tired, it stopped hitting the pupa. The kid had mercy on the little butterfly and carefully moved the sides of the pupa, letting the little butterfly out. The butterfly spread wonderful wings, filled with beautiful colors. It waved them and started to fly. It gathered height but suddenly it stopped waiving and fell on the ground.
The boy was shocked. He picked up the butterfly and saw that it was dead. He ran with the butterfly in his hands to the old man, crying wanted him to tell him what happened. Why was the butterfly dead? The old man told him "you helped the butterfly go out of the pupa didnrsquo;t you?" The boy answered yes. And the old man said: "By helping it out of the pupa you actually killed the butterfly with your bare hands. Getting out of the pupa, the butterfly has to hit it with its wings. He does that for long time, letting them go stronger and stronger. When the wings strong enough to break the pupa, it means that they prepared to fly. By helping it out, you prevented the butterfly the chance of getting its wings strong enough for flying"
For all of you who have children, please keep in mind: sometimes we see our little kid trying to do something on his own, and we are feeling like we have to help him. It might be a mistake. Even if it will take him long, or if he has to exert, and even if he will fails for several times, thatrsquo;s how his wings gets strong, thatrsquo;s how he prepared himself for life.
Have a wonderful day.
